Annual Events are dead
As I was rummaging through the event items on one of my mules, I realised that it was pretty much all junk. What the events need is something more memorable, Wintersday and Halloween need a bit of sprucing up as the monks have been kind of a fail in the last year.
So what do we need? How about more minipets, not like the polar bear one that basically never dropped last wintersday, and I know that there is the freezie and elf minipets, but how about a dwarf one?It would give him some use for once.
For halloween why not a ghost or bat minipet, or a candycorn shield(would look like the BMP mursaat shield just made of candy corn), because frankly the costume ball was good but had nothing to do with halloween.
Don't care if you flame me,we need something to remember events by,not just the vast amounts of sweets/acohol you just flog.

I think adding new items to the game that just cost a lot doesn't solve much =/

Mini Pig prior to the Celestial remix? That was a cheap festival related pet.

We alreasy get 1 or 2 hats each year at halloween, wintersday, canthan new year and dragon festival. Please, no more! It's a pain as it is trying to attend all the places that give you different headgear each event. ONE hat or perhaps TWO should be max for each event.
But I guess the wintersday candycane weapons are getting old. Perhaps have some new tonics this year?

Always hoped they'd include a Christmas Tree tonic that turns you into a christmas tree during wintersday events. Would be pretty cool to login to LA and see a bunch of trees standing around shouting "WTS CANDY CANES!"...

Some different items would be cool for the annual events.... I don't really care what as long as they are different from the last year's event. XD

I don't think the events are dead, they are becoming a little repetitive for those of us who've been around for all of them, but for new players it's still really exciting, and I still really enjoy all the festivals, even if it's essentially the same thing ever year. Isn't that the case with the real Christmas and Haloween every year anyway? People just complain too much.
I just hope they don't begin to recycle the hats. Using the Lion mask again at Cantha New Year was pretty weak, and I don't think anyone bought the excuse.

Wintersday needs a more definitive way of people deciding and battling between which avatar wins the festival. Being able to make snowballs in towns and chuck them at people might also be entertaining.
Halloween at least needs to have Costume Brawl updated so that certain skills don't become useless. Halloween doesn't really feel that haloweeny to me anyways, just because it's always been something I'd show up for at the end. Costume Brawling was a nice addition, but it doesn't have the dark and scary feeling that I think I should get out of Halloween. An improvement would be if decorated towns had falling autumn leaves just like they'd have falling snow.
Oh, dyeable masks help. I haven't seen a good one since the Dragon Mask, thanks. I'm split over the idea of new tonics or minipets. Quests don't appeal to me either, as I spend all of my holiday event time in arenas to get Gamer points.
What I really want is a system to allow festival masks to have armor, allowing them to be sported year-round.

i agree that the masks should have armor!
also for halloween they could do something like giving players random looks (rangers look like mesmers, necros look like warriors) those would be fun!

only need 1 or 2 hats per holiday.

I say, more tonics, more arenas, more quests, maybe armor instead of just masks. Maybe, a new title or two, although Gamer works well for me. New weapons to mimic the Candy Cane weapons in stats would work too.
For Wintersday, I suggest going to this thread for an idea. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10292929

Would depend on how you did it, I think. If you are a X-mas tree you shouldn't be able to move, if you do I think it should wear off. This isn't Looney Toons, plants don't move. Except those ones in Nightfall... but they don't count, they're evil. Maybe a X-Mas tree summoner, like the snowmen, but not a tonic.
